Bamboo poles come in several varieties and lengths. Check these out!

Natural poles are harvested at the optimum time for strength. They are grey/green in colour.

Bleached poles have been boiled and cleaned. They are usually cream in colour.

Half split poles are any of the above poles cut down the middle to produce poles of a semi-circular cross section.

Slats and Paling are bamboo poles cut lengthwise into three or four strips depending on the diameter of the original pole.

Nursery and garden stakes are small to medium diameter bamboo poles pre-cut to size to suit gardeners, nurserymen, and handicraft.

Explanation on sizes
The diameters listed are the nominal base of pole widths = wide, diameter, thick.
The diameters column indicates the range of the base sizes, do not expect every pole to be an identical width.
Bamboo is a natural product and tapers from base to tip. The tapering is less pronounced on shorter and thicker sizes.
Pole 2 metres long will have less tapering than the 5.8 length.
Natural poles are grey/green dried poles, green indicates freshly cut poles.
Bleached poles are blonde colour poles that have been boiled in Hydrogen peroxide & dried. Coloured poles are freshly cut from coloured species (the colour fades away as they dry out).

Round Bamboo Poles

- Natural

The round cylindrical lengths of bamboo.
Typically harvested at 4-6 years old to achieve maximum tensile strength.
Grey/green in colour.

Stack of natural Bamboo Poles

- Bleached

Natural poles (see above).
Boiled in Hydrogen Peroxide and dried.
Usually blonde in colour.

Wedding arbour on beach Wedding Arbour poles set $220.00 inc GST

Height 2.5m width 2.5m.
A package consisting of:
4 bleached poles 75-90 mm diameter, 2.5 m long (uprights)
4 bleached poles 50-60 mm diameter, 2.5 m long
(cross beams)

Easily assembled with zip ties or rope lashing. An easy and elegant way to fix a pole in the ground is by using a rod driven into the ground and then put the pole over the top of the rod piercing a couple of nodes of the bamboo pole. This method conceals the rod, showing only the bamboo.

Other dimensions readily available. Just call or email us with measurements to get a cost.

Our policy is to avoid the use of toxic chemicals on the farm. The poles we supply are untreated and non toxic.
They are suitable for most sensitive environmental applications.
Unfortunately this may result in seasonal insect or fungal attack unless treated.
To protect your purchase we suggest that you treat the poles in a manner suitable for the intended use.
